Gaius Baltar was nervous. He had plenty of reasons to be nervous lately. The videos that the games had unlocked had done little to put him at ease. He was thoroughly convinced that their captors were performing some sort of experiments on those that had disappeared. And it seemed that their numbers dwindled by the day.

But that wasn't why he was nervous now. For the past ten minutes, he'd been pacing back and forth, completely absorbed by his thoughts.

"Relax, Gaius," Six says, and he can feel her hands on his shoulders, silently urging him to sink into one of his room's chairs. He complies.

"Are you going to stay?" he asks, looking up at her as she massages his shoulders. At times like these, she reminds him of the stray cat he fed sometimes back on Caprica. Both seemed to go and come as they pleased. But he could no sooner bring himself to collar the cat than he could collar Six.

"I'm not," she says, continuing her massage. "This is a conversation you and Zoe need to have by yourselves."

"Do you know Zoe?" he asks. It's probably the twelfth or fourteenth time he's asked the question in the past few days and though Caprica never gave him the answers he wanted, he can't seem to stop himself from asking. "You led me to her. You knew she would be on the Observation Deck."

Six says nothing as he knew she would.

"You wanted me to meet her," he says, and it comes out as an accusation.

"She's a very valuable ally, Gaius," she says.

"Is this the whole God thing? Is it because of that?"

And suddenly he can't feel her fingers on his shoulder. He twists his head upwards to look at her again, but finds that she's already gone.

And then the doors open.
